Clever mix of old and new

THE Californian bungalow is a feature of Hamilton South and this house has strong elements of the 1930’s style plus many modern, updated features.

Recent additions offer open-plan living without disturbing the original dwelling. The house has a versatile layout of four or five bedrooms and three living areas. Indoor and outdoor living and entertainment areas have been added and are designed for privacy.

The air-conditioned house faces north and light fills the freshly-painted interior. Other features of the house include a renovated kitchen with stainless-steel appliances, and a large laundry with a third toilet and convenient hand basin.

All of the bedrooms are large. The main bedroom has a full-size bathroom with a CaesarStone vanity, a Kaldewei pressed-metal, full-sized oval bath and a walk-in wardrobe. There is gas cooking and gas heating.

In the front living area there is a split-system air-conditioner. The third bedroom has separate access. An attractive original fireplace is in one of the bedrooms. The roof has been retiled and the single, lock-up garage has internal access.
